There are three important elements to Cooking on the Square. First is YOU, our sponsors, volunteers and participants!
Next is the variety of Cajun-themed foods and sweet treats. Oh-wee! Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
The final element (and one many think is the MOST IMPORTANT!) is the BOWLS.
For those that aren’t familiar with the process of creating the work of art that is available at every Cooking on the Square, you may not realize how much time and energy is put into taking a pile of clay into the final product – a beautiful bowl waiting in the bowl tents for YOU to choose.
Due to some changes beyond our control, we need to immediately increase our own production of bowls. To keep up with the demand of your beloved event, we started a pottery studio a few years ago in our facility on East 15th Street.
Today we find ourselves in need of expanding the studio to meet the growth of Cooking on the Square. We need to accommodate more of our local artists and pottery volunteers, who help in the process, as soon as we possibly can!
Our immediate need for this expansion is $10,000. Items we have prioritized for this expansion includes two more wheels (almost $1000 each), a large kiln ($4,000), plumbing and electrical work needs, plus other supplies to make our studio as productive as possible. This investment will allow us to host more volunteers to create more bowls year after year.
Every donation is appreciated but if 25 friends signed on to raise $400 (by simply sharing this campaign on your social media!), we'd make our $10,000 goal easily.
Help us make bowls without even getting dirty!!
