Continued Progress in Overton County

Progress is happening quickly for our home build in Livingston!

In June, the home's prefabricated concrete basement walls were set into place, bringing the project from vision to reality. The future homeowners and their four children were on site to witness the exciting progress, celebrating the beginning of their journey toward homeownership. Framing is now complete, which created the shape and structure of the home, as well as proof of the exciting promise of what’s to come for this family.

This house will mark the sixth home built by UC Habitat in Overton County, and house #95 for UC Habitat as a whole.

We'd like to extend a huge thank you to our community partners who have made this project possible, including Billings Crane, Hernandez Framing and Remodeling, LLC, Southeast Surveyors, WoodmenLife, Ray’s Backhoe, Parker, Rogers Group and Vick Surveying, LLC.

Home Dedication Ceremony Welcomes Family into Their New Home

On Saturday, July 25 we held a Home Dedication ceremony to welcome a family to their new home in Cookeville!

Family, friends, and community members gathered to celebrate this family's exciting milestone, and the homeowner even shared moving words about her experience in our Homeownership Program.

"Throughout my time with Habitat I gained not only this home, but I got self confidence back," said the homeowner. "I also got the knowledge to steward this new blessing and a community that welcomed me and my children with kindness every single step of the way."

We're so thankful for the generosity and support of our volunteers, donors, sponsors, and community partners. Thanks to them, this family's dream of homeownership has become a reality.
